Refugee Law Project joins survivors of torture to mark the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. The UN General Assembly proclaimed 26 June the United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture in 1997. The UN declaration was made to regularly renew attention to the need to eradicate torture and to enable the effective functioning of the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT).
