Gerald Siranda Blacks
Gender Psychosocial worker - Gerald is Psychosocial Development worker by profession. He holds bachelor's degree in Ethics and Development Studies, an advanced diploma in Social sciences, a post graduate Diploma in Gender and Human Rights and he is currently a Candidate for the MA in Gender, Human Rights and Sexuality. He joined the RLP in 2007 as a volunteer social worker and he was part of the team that helped in the starting on the SGBV section. Later on he became the SGBV/P/SRHR/HIV and AIDS consultant, and later the Gender Psychosocial Worker and the focal person on HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health rights. He was responsible for carrying out home visits, assessing needs of SGBV/P clients, giving psychosocial support to SGBV/P clients, assisting in the coordination of the SGBV/P medical cases, coordinating health care and other services providers offering services to the SGBV/P and HIV/AIDS and SRHR to refugees in Kampala. Gerald was also an integral member of the Research and Legal Aid teams that regularly visited the field to provide onsite counseling in the refugee settlements.
