Consultancies

The Refugee Law Project is often invited to carry out specific research on themes of interest to different organisations. We have provided consultancy services to various organisations working in areas such as conflict, forced migration, and transitional justice. To date, we have concluded several successful consultancies including some with the following agencies:

We have worked with DANIDA on several occasions, working on topics as diverse as reconstruction and reconciliation in the West Nile region of Uganda, the Amnesty Act, and the implementation of the National IDP Policy in the Teso region.
The NRC's Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre commissioned us to study what effects the 2004 visit by Francis Deng (UN Representative of the Secretary-General on Internally Displaced Persons) had had in northern Uganda. The findings were released in our special report, "Only Peace Can Restore the Confidence of the Displaced".
In 2005, we worked with CARE Uganda to study traditional methods of reconciliation and their potential for facilitating reconciliation in western Uganda.
